A CHARGE DISMISSED. A charge of assault brought against WiSk, liam Logan by James Hatcher was dismissed by the Justices, Messrs C. Hood Williams and R. H. Wood. The complainant., stated that tlie accused had sbrack him ok tbe side of the head with a walking-stick.' The accused stated that the complainant hat? injured himself by falling off liis bicycle. SURETIES OF THE MACE. John Sherwood was alleged to have used! threatening language towards Thomas Sherwood on June 29th, and sureties of tlio peace were applied for. After hearing the evidence tho Bench ordered the defendant to find sureties, himself in .325, and one other, in £25. Mr Lougfinan appeared for the complainant, and Mr Donnelly for the defendant. DRUNKENNESS. Daniel Crawford, who was charged with.. being an habitual drunkard, was fineel .10s., 1 Thomas Green was lined 10s, and two mala first offenders were convicted and discharged., BY-LAW CASKS. i James Buck waa fined* 5s and costs fop; leaving a horse and vehicle unattended on" tho East Bolt on June 11th. ! Thornhilt Cooper, who "did not deny or admit t__cr charge, as he did not know," was fined 10s) Mid costs for riding his bicycle along tha footpath of Chapel street,' St. Albans.. Charles Herbert Rock and Gertrude Maria. Rock were each mulcted in a fine of 10a and costs for riding their machines along! the footpath of the Papanui road on June 9th.
