HUNTING.
On Saturday the Brackenfield Hounds •met at the Broomfield School. The slight thaw of the previous x__ht had made the country rideab-le. There also was a pretty fair scent, and the promising morning induced a field of between wirty and, forty sporterhen and ladies to put in an appearance. The col- snap on the hills must have brought the hares down, for oh hounds being thrown off bares jumped up m all directions. Getting on one that was likely to take a good line of country, tbe hounds were soon in full cry, and after a fa_t run of twenty-six minutes she was pulled down in the open. Another good run ended in the hare getting away in the river-bed. On the invitation of Mrts Douglas, tha field then went to lunch at Broomfield House, after which the hunt was , resumed. Amongst those present were: — Misses E. and F. Douglas, Miss Wells, Miss M. Wells, W. Ensor, F. Courage, Mar_h,.Hu_*_>hr-ys, W- and G. Starky, TJ. ueorge, G. Buss, CSnunpton (_/, Coieman (2), Hadler, Rowe, Kennedy, Barclay, and McNaught.
