The Agent-General's market message, dated London, 29th fays: The average price of Canterbury mutton to-day is 3|d. Duned'n and Southland 3_d, North Island 3_d, Australian 2_d, River Plate 2_d. The mutton market is quiet, and trade for all classes of mutton has been very slow, and prices are barely maintained. The market is over supplied with heavy carcases, very few really prime having been marketed lately. Canter_ury lamb is at 6_d, brands other than Canterbury 5 l-3d. There is good demand for all lamb. Many lambs coming forward this season are too heavy, and have to be sold as tegs at reduced prices. Beef—New Zealand hinds 3|d, fores 2_<L The beef market is very doll, and there is scarcely any demand: for fores. Flax—Heavy "good fair Wellington" is £25, July and September shipments of New Zealand being £23, Manila £31 10s. Heavy shipments are expected from Manila, and the market is .dull. There is no altera-, tion in the cocksfoot seed market since last week.
