The British, by a rapid night march, surprised and routed the Mad Mullah at Somali, capturing 5000 cattle. The main column proceeded to the Mullah's camp at Gohip. Meanwhile the Mullah, with severe! thousand followers, fiercely attacked the Zariba at Somali, defended "by 300 British. The enemy were twice repulsed, losing 600. The British casualties were 19.
