(SPECIAL TO "THE PRESS.") GREYMOUTH, June 18. The river is somewhat swollen to-day, and interfered with dredging to some extent. The first annual meeting of shareholders of Perry's Keward Com/puny was held at Rokitika yesterday. Seven shareholders were present, and nine were represented by proxy. Mr Perry occupied the chair. He said thitt tthe dredge waa working smoothly, but would take at least three weeks yet to open out; also that only IGs per share had been called up. The balance sheet waa received and adopted. Meas|i Perry and Mitchell were re-elected directors, and Mr King auditor.

The directors of the Sioney and Mosquito Lead Company had a second paddock sunk in the company's ground, 20ft long by latt wide, and 23ft deep, measuring 255 cubic yards of wash, with a. yield of Boz lOdwt of gold, giving an average vaiue of 29 8d per yard. The directors are negotiating now for a suitable dredge.

The Greenstone Junction Company's dredge is atill undergoing repairs to the elevator and ladder. This work will occupy a few days. The Greenstone Creek Company's dredge is working smoothly. Although tho wash is tight, the dredge is able to work. It is almost in a line with the prospecting shaft, in which favourable prospects were obtained! An improvement on laet week's yield is 'Expected. t The Totara Company's dredge has met with a mishap, having broken her shaft. HOKITIKA. June 18. The Totara Company's dredge is afloat, and has beon working- since last Tuesday. It is reported on rich ground. The boring operations of tho Kohinoor Company's claim are proving it a highly payable ground. The Mont dOr Company heM its ordinary meetiog on Thursday Inst, when the question of letting tho blocks for twelve months was considered. Mr W. Searle was the successful tenderer. , At the annual meeting of the Perry's Reward Company, Mr Perry took the opportunity of stating publicly, with reference to certain rumours, that vendors were the largest contributing shareholders, and not a single paid up share had been sold. He held 800 contributing shares, and had not parted with a single share.
