The Grand Lodge of New Zealand Freejjuukmvs has decided to forward through Lord Ranfurly an address to Ki»g Edward VH as follows:—"We, members ot the iraternity known as Ancient, Free, and Accepted Masons of Now Zealand, in Grand Lodge assembled, desire to humbly and respectfully express our sincere and profound sympathy with your Majesty in the great: sorrow caused Dy the lamented death of your beloved mother, her late Majesty Queen Victoria, whose memory will ever remain cherished in the hearts of your loyal subjects. We respectfully tender to your Majesty our fraternal congratulations on your accesion to the Throne, and shall never cease to pray that under Divine providence you may be long spared to reign over a kappy, united, and prosperous nation. We venture humbly to request that your Majesty may be graciously pleased to continue to bear the title of patron of this Grand Lodge, which you deigned to accept recently, and we feel assured that under such august auspices our fraternity will ever steadfastly maintain and promote in this distant part of your (Majesty's vast j empire that loyalty, fidelity, and humility which have ever distinguished Freemasons."
