POLICE COURTS.
At the Police Court yesterday, Messrs W. H. Cooper and L. E. Oorsbie, Justices, fined a male first offender for having been drunk ss, or, in default, ordered him to be imprisoned for twenty-four hours. John Kinky, for a similar offence, was sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment, and John Nolan, for also having been found drunk, was fined 10s, in default to be imprisoned for forty-eight hours. At Lyttelton yesterday, before Mr T. C. Field, J.P., Thomas Heenan, convicted of having been drunk and disorderly, was aned°los and costs, and for breaking a window in the Lyttelton Hotel he was ordered to pay 12s 6d.
