THE JUBILEE EXHIBITION.
A concert --ranged by Mi.-'S C. 1.. Eitfhif, wm given last night in the Concert Hall of the -xhibitiou. and was certainly one of the most successful both from a musical point of view ar.d the number of the audience, that has been given during the season. The programme %va_ one <•/ exceptional quality, o_Tricul-rly as reg—-as tha piano solos given by Miss Ritchie. This young lady has a brilliant style, and a considerable amount of executant ability. She pl_vs with considerable power and delicacy." and in all the nu_btr_ given by her showed herself to be a pianistc of rare ability. Collier's sweet tenor voice was hcaid to advantage in "Only a Rosebud,'' ar.d "Oft in the Stilly Night,' both o: which were encored. Mr A. Millar sang _*chubert"_ "Th- Wanderer," and Shield's '•The Wolf," r-ceiving a treble encore lor the latter. ' To-night a. concert wiil b? given arrang-ad by Ch'tftain and Chief—mess Itangmia, wluAi in addition to several solos in En.----lis-h. th.v will give solos and duets in Maori. The Executive of the Jubilee Exhibition have decids-d that there shall be no formal closing of tho Exhibition on January 3_t. Instead of that, a social gathering together of all the committees has been arranged for that evening, and there is -every probability of a yen- s»„ce_dul and enjo\_bla gathering, -ill the individual miisical helpers will also be invited on the occasion. The di-ribntion of tl- gold and silver medals won in connection with the Exhibition will taka place on January 30th.
