FIRES.
(FJtESS ASSOCIATION* TELEORAU3.) WELLINGTON, January 18. Two three-storey warehouses in Willis street, these of Massrs Wrigglesworth and Uinns, photographers, and the Singer Sewing Machine Company, ''were totally destroyed by a fire, which broke out at five o'clock this morning. The fire ia presumed to have started in the middle floor of .Messrs Wriggletworth and Binns', at the buck. Luckily it was dead calm, and the Fire Brigade v.js able to prevent the spread of the flames to the adjoining buildiniM. Th'i> insurance on Messis Wrigglesworth' ftndßLniis's building, which wns owned by Mr Jftcob Joseph, was £1600 in the Commercial Union, with the following re-insurauces: — £200 in the London and Lancashire, £150 in the Victoria, and £500 in the South British. Th? Winger Company's building, ftlso owned by Mr Joseph, was insured for i<2Boo in the Commercial Union, and reinsured to thp extent of £250 in the Sun, £250 in tho Alliance, £150 in the Standard. £200 in the London and Lancashire. £250 in the Australian Alliance. £250 in the Norwich Union, and £250 in the Liverpool, London, and G!ob;\
The contents of Messrs Wrigglesworth and ]JiT;n«'s building were insured for £100 in the Alliance, and £ISO in the Standard. The contents of Hinger'sare said to b<> insure*! hi a- Sydney office.
UISBORNK, January 18. Tfas furnitiii-i' manufactory of Mr John Towutey. Mayor of U-isborne. was destroyed by fire "this morning. The building was ft two-gtorey wooden one, and when the fire discovered «t 4.30 a.m. an immerse volume of tlenj-e black smoke was breaking through tln> nHif. It was utterly impossible to save p.nything. and the whole place w m consumed by the fire.
