The steamer Indradevi ( which is coming to Lyttelton, had a very boisterous passage from New York to Melbourne. Leaving Now York on 9th November, heavy easterly gales beset the vessel, seas being of exceptional violence. Ono huge volume of water which broke aboard completely gutted the qfficers' quarters, and did sundry damage about the deck. A call was made at St. Vincent's on 23rd to replenish bunkers, and the Cape was passed on 11th Decomber, in 39 south. Easting was made over the 47th parallel, and on reaching 100 east fierce gales again became frequent, and lasted right up to port. The Rimutaka, whioh left London on January sth, has 1100 tons of general cargo for Lyttelton. The Rotomahana arrived at 10.20 a.m. on Saturday. A special train from Lyttelton was run to catch the express for the South. The Rotomahana left for Wellington on Saturday night. Mr J. A. C. Barker, pursor of the Haupiri, is being transferred to the Upolu. On leaving the Haupiri Mr Barker received presentations from his brother officers aud from the providoro department. His successor is Air O'Callaghan, hitherto of the Janet Nicoll. The Himita-ngi, from Wellington via Cheviot and Motonau, arrived early oa Saturday

The Border Knight sailed for Capetown at 9 a.m. yesterday. Tho Elingamite, from Sydney via Auckland, arrived shortly alter 4 p.m. yesterday. The barqi__> Komanofi'. which is commanded by Captain Robertson, is no stranger to Lyttelton, as she was here, then a ship, seven ye__rs ago, arrived from Sydney at 7.30 a.m. yesterday, and anchored in the stream. She was granted pratique by Dr. Upham in the afternoon. She left Sydney on December 31st.

The Gothic's arrival at Lyttelton has been postponed till to-morrow. The yacht Waitangi, her repairs having been completed, left for Wellington again at G o'clock yesterday morning. Two of her original crew went back to Wellington aa soon as possible, as they had to take up their usual duties, two more left on Saturday for Wcl-iiii-tou by the Rotomahana, and the other two, with two men engaged at Lyttelton, are sailing her now.
