WELLINGTON v CANTERBURY.

The third interprovincial match of the season will be commenced on Saturday next, when Canterbury will play AVellington on Lancaster Park. This game should be of , considerable interest to the Christchurch public, as not only doe 3 the match usually . produce some heavy scoring, but this year I both provinces have proved themselves exceptionally strong, and the championship of tho colony practically depends on the result. Our representatives have defeated Otago and Auckland, and the cricketing authorities of Christchurch are sparing no effort to not only get their best team in the field, but to get them there in their best form. Should Canterbury succeed in placing a third win to its credit, our cricketers may fairly claim to have celebrated the Jubilee of the province in a manner that should, meet with the approval of even the much quoted "old time players." The selector has chosen the following players to represent Canterbury in the annual game against AVellington, which will be commenced at Lancaster Park on Saturday next ana continued on the following Monday and Tues- : day:—R. AA r . Barry, C. Bosshall, S. Callaway, jF. S. Frankish, K. Ollivier, S. Orchard, AY. |C. Pearca, A. E. Ridley, H. C. Ridley, A. Sims, and W. C. H. A\ T igley. Practices will be held at Lancaster Park at 5 p.m. to-day, and will be continued up to Friday night.
