BANQUET IN LONDON.
(Received January 12th, 12.68 a.m.) LONDON, January 1L Lord Brassey presided at a Commonwealth banquet held at:the City Liberal Club. Universal regret was expressed at Sir J. R. Dickson's.death, and satisfaction at the manifesto by Mr Deal-in, which expressed a desire to .encourage the coiojjies to enter.into Imperial trade. Lord Brassey wished United Australia, "God speed, Esto Perpetua.'' Lord Strathcona voiced Canada's greetings to the Commonwealth.
