In his openirig address at the Anglican Synod ths Primate, referring to Archbishop Redwood's sermon, said he had never thought it necessary in his public utterances to denounce the Roman Catholic Church, or to enter into a controversial correspondence, but when on a public occasion they had. such a sermon as Archbishop Redwood had published, it seemed necessary to say they repudiated as a libellous and gratuitous insult this defamation of Protestant Christianity.
