SWIMMING.
The annual meeting of the YaJd'h'urst Amateur Swimming L'iub was held on Friday evening, Mr W. Johnston, vice-presi-dent of the (J-lub, in the ahair. The balancesheet showed -a credit ba-'anee of £2 18s lid, and both it and the Teport were adopted, The Club's rules were all reconsidered and revised. The following officers were elected:—Patron, Mr G. VV. Russell, M.H.R. : president, Mr G. G. Stead ; vicepresidents, Messrs W. Jo&mston, R. J. mason, 'J. Guy, W. J. Guy, John Pranks, F. Clarke, W. Davks, R* Spear, and J. Loan ; captain, Mr W. Franks; sub-captain, Mr George Kingdov.; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr F. H. Bowler; committee, Messrs R. O'Donneli, C. Boon, F. Johnston, A. Johnston, A. Barnes, F. Franks, and A. Cochrane; delegate to the N.Z.A.S.A., Mr \V. Franks; handica.ppei-s, Messrs Franks, Bowler, and O'Donnell. Votes of thanks were given to the Captain, Sub-cap-tain, and Secretary, as well as to the VicePresidents, for their valuable assistance to the Club during the yeax. It was resolved that a message of sympathy should be sent from the Club to the family and relations of the late Mr George Franks, who ddedi in Soutlh Africa. Mr Franks w-as a member of the Club's committee 'last year, and wfeen he left for South Africa it was proposed to make him a life member of the Club.
