THE MOUNT COOK SITE UNOBTAINABLE. (FBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, September 15. iln response to 4 deputation from the Governors of Wellington College, who protested against the taking of ten acres of their ground for Victoria College, the Premier said that there should be no interference with the playground, and compensation would be provided. He thought, however, they could find room out of their seventy acres. If the Victoria College authorities waited for the Mount Cook site they would wait a long time-, for he could sit as tight as anyone. He commented on the absence of forethought in the past, and the lack of generosity among the richer citizens. • .../..
