\ TO THB EDITOK OF THE PBESS. Sir,—lt is a pity that Dr. Fox should have condescended to notice the idle tittletattSe of irresponsible miscliief-makers. Whoever informed him that I had been speaking of him "in the most bitter, abusive and insulting tones" has been drawing upon his imagination for his facts. To numbers of people who have spoken to mc a_out Dr. Fox I have invariably remarked that if I could not win an election on my own merits I would not win it by depreciating my opponent.
