SCHOOL COMMIT!'EUS
At the monthly meeting of the Sydenham School Committee, it was resolved' that 1000 medals to commemorate the declaration of peaca in South Africa be procured for distribution to tho school children. The annual examination report by the inspector was considered to be highly satisfactory. . The best thanks and congratulations of the committee were conveyed to the headmaster and staff. Mr Robert Charles was appointed junior assistant master. It was decided that the school children receive one week's holiday at the end of the present month, and one week at Show time.
The Woolston School Committee met on Monday. It was announced that Mr Buckingham would give a lecture, on the Transvaal war, one naif of the profit to go to purchase medals for the children. Mr Manifold and Mr Robertson were appointed visitors for the next three months.
