SHEEP RETURNS.

(Bt Telegraph.) (from our special corbespontjkkt.) WELLINGTON, July 12? A return prepared by the Chief Inspector of Stock shows that the approximate number of sheep in the colony on April 30th, 1900, was 19,347,346, a decrease of 1160 when compared with the previous year. In the North Island there is an increase over the previous'year's figures of 38,933, but in the South Island there is a decrease of 40,163.
