ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

AUCKLAND, April 21. Captain Alexander, private secretary to the Governor, was riding in the EUerslie district, when his horse stumbled and came down. Captain Alexander injured his kneecap, and the accident will prevent htm from getting about for a week or two.
DUNEDIN. April 21. While working the Rolling Stone dredge, at Cardrona, yesterday, John Robinson, vie dredge master, was oiling the cog wheels near the tumbler, when his foot slipped, and his arm was drawn into the cogs. Robinson was taken to the Arrow Hospital, where his arm was amputated, and he bow lies in a critical etace. His wife and family reside at Lawrence.
DUNEDIN, April 22. The guard of • the train from Port Chalmers reports that a son of Mr Borlase, of Sawyer's Bay. was picked tip dead in the quarry there just as the txain was passing. No further particulars are to hand.
