(γ-hess association- tklegram.) DUNKDIN. April 19. The Minister of Mines visited Kaitaugata yesterday, and was cordial I v welcomed by the miners. Having been officially welcomed by the Mayor, in the name of the inhabitant* c>{ tho district, Mr McUowati »!iid that with his previoiw knowledge, and fortified with the additional information which he would gain during his present tour, he would l«? able to defend the mining industry wlu-n attacked in the House. He wished to xeo the capitalist receiving it fair return for the money lie had invested, but it was equally important that the miner should receive remunerative payment for his labour. This was one of the principal tenets of Liberalism. The Minister visited Gore, Wakaka, and Wnikaia to-day.
