PIONEER BICYLING AND ATHLETIC CLUB.

The twenty-first birthday of the Pioneer Bicycle Club was fittingly celebrated last night by a social gathering, at which the Hon. E* C J. Stevens, the first President of the Club, occupied the chair. The evening was devoted to toast and -song. After the..toast of "The Queen" had been honoured in tho customary loyal way. the prizes won at the Autumn Meeting were distributed. Mr A. Lowry proposed tie toast of "The Club," in the course of which he alluded to Tue Club's history and its rise from eleven members to over 300, and he also spoke of the great service rendered to the Club by its Preskittit. The toast was responded to by the Hjjfc £. C. J. Stevens, who congratulated theßlub on having attained its majority, ana attributed its long life to the energy and activity which had always been shown by the management. The other toasts given and acknowledged were : —"Cycling and Athletics." "Kindred Clubs." "The President," "Kindred Sports,"

"The Cyclists' Alliance and the Amateur Athletic Association," "Vice-Presidents," "The Press," and "The Ladies." During the evening songs, instrumental selections, or recitations were contributed by Messrs Whittingham, Hocklev. Green, Fox, Hayward, Scott, and Collins.
