Shop, Assistants Act amended dnririg the coming session m the Akection pf making- any spedail day, rach as Saturday, oir tlie proclamation of the Mayor, a. pubHc:-oliday, .when all shops must close, and the employees shall be entitled to such holiday; To my mind, Sir, the opening of the shops on Saturday afternoon was tlie only thing that nmrredj tbesendioff proceedings, therefore I amendment, to the present Act ia thedvp^ioft"indicatedwould obviate a similar ocoiq*enoe.. From what lam told by some of vfe'traders' they were quite prepared to close'all day and make Friday a late night; but"two or three upset the whole arrangement.Trusting this matt-, will be taken up for future benefit.*—-Yours, etc., • LOYALTY.
