PUBLIC MEETING IN WANGANUI.
(PRESS . ASSOCIATION TEtBGRAM.) WANGANUI, December 28. At a public meeting to-night, oorivened by the Mayor, it waa -rewlved —"That in the opinion of this meeting, the military assistance being sent to South Africa by New Zealand should be largely iuci-eased. and that Wanganui and district will assist to this end." The meeting was very enthusiastic, and concluded with the National Anthem. The sum of £16Q was subscribed in the room. Wanganui recently raised £50Cr for the refugees* fund.
