THE CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION.

The first meeting of the Canterbury Cricket Association, under the new constitution, w~a>3 held on Saturday night at the Clarendon Hotel. Mr W. H. Wynn-Wil-liams occupied the chair. The following officers were elected for the year:—President, Mr W. H. WynnWilliams; vice-presidents, Messrs F. Wilding, and H. D..Carter; hon. secretary, Mr F. C. Raphael- hon. treasurer, Mr G. A. U. Taoper; committee, Messrs T. W. Reese,"C. R. Clark, H. C. Ridley, C. W. Garrard, F. C. Gerard, J. H. Smith, and O. Caygifl; Selection Committee, Messrs F. Wilding, D. Reese, and J. N. Fowke; Junior Cup Committee, Messrs A. J. Barge, O. G. A. U. Tapper, C. J. Atkinson and W. Walton; vice-president New Zealaifd Cricket CouncU, Mr F. Wildinpt; delegates do., Messrs T. D. Harman and F. C. Raphael. The Secretary reported that the following clubs had affiliated to the Association:—Sydenham and Addington United, Midland, Lancaster Park, United, Methven, Lyfctelton, Boys' High School, and Christ's ColJege^ It was decided that a two days' match of the President's and Vice-President's contests should be settled: on the first innings; that it be a request to the captains of the United and Lancaster Park Clubs to start the completion of their match next Saturday at' half-past one o'clock; that ell practices be at Lancaster Park; that Saturday, 25th November, be given to the Athletic Club; that the Committee determine whether or not senior cricket be suspended on November 11th.
