Strong westerly winds have been prevalent. The weather ha. been generally tine, but a strong westerly gale with hail'is reported from the Bluff, 'xne low pressure trom the west will pass eastward of the meridian of the South Cape on the 23rd instant. THE WEATHER IN AUSTRALIA. The following weather reports from Australian stations were received yesterday: —

Albany, October 1»-Wind, N.E.; bare., 30.10; cloudy. Hobart, October 19—Wind, S.E.; baro., 30.10; fine. Sydney, October 20—Wind, S.; bare., 30.20; fine.

There i. very little pressure* movement at both Albany and Hobart, but a slight increase at Sydney. There ia very low pressure in lat. SO to 55 deg. south, long. 187 to 141 deg. east, travelling eastward, and will pass the meridian of the South Cape late on the 23rd inst. R. A. EDWIN.
