The market rate of discount for best three months' bills is £ per cent, lower at4| per cent. The Bank of England rate is 5 per ccn 1 ;., a. against 4i per cent, on October 3rd, 5£ percent, on July 13th, 3 per cent, on 12th July, and 3_ per cent, on 19th January. CONSOLS AND COLONIAL STOCKS. The following are the latest quotations for consols and colonial inscribed stocks, and a comparison with those ruling last week:—

[The quotation for New Zealand 4 per cent, stock is ex interest.] WHEAT AND OTHER MARKETS. The wheat markets are dull and tending downwards. An Australion June cargo is offering at 31_ 6d; a parcel ex sailer due at 29s 3d. Butter is flat; a few choicest lata of colonial make 108s to 112s. There is a fair trade in eeooadaries at 100s to 106s. Danish is weak, nosuinaifiy at 120s. Copper is steady; spot £75 7s 6d per ton, three months £75 15s. Tin is firm; spot £145 10s per ton; three months £145155. Lead £16 2s 6d per ton. Iran 70s per tonSugar is flat; German, 9s, Java lis 9d. The Bradford wool market is tending downward • common sixties 28d, super 29d. Silver is quoted at 2a 2|d per oz. SYDNEY, October 20. Large supplies of Circular Head potatoes are arriving. New Zealand Derweats ore quoted at £2 12s 6d.
