Sea—Heavy, but. decreasing on all western coast, and heavy southerly swell on the eastern coast scuta oi the ±>ast Cape. TiDSs—High on ail western coast, also on the east coast south, of the .East Cape, moderate euwwhere. A cold night is probable in all parts of the country. f SYNOPSIS OP IXR PREVIOUS 24 HOTJBS. The decreasing pressure continued .everywhere until about 8 p.m., since then it has risen everywhere. Strong northerly winds were experienced northward oi Napier and Boglan, and northerly gales thence southwards, changing to couth-west in the South Island A good rainfaU has been experienced on the j Wosi Coast of the South Island and in parts of Otago. The low pressrure from the west ' lias passed to the eastward of the meridian of the South Cape. The following reports received by Captain Edwin, R.N., chow the weather on October 19th, at 5 p.m.:— Manukau Heads—Wind, W., fresh; baro., 30.08; therm., 57; showery, sea heavy. New Plymouth—Wind, S.W., light; baro., 29.91; therm., 54; fine, sea rough. Caatlepoint—Wind, N.W., breeze; baro., 29.72; therm., 64; fine, sea smooth. Wellington—Wind, N.W., fresh; baro., 29.70; therm., 60; fine. Westport—Wind, S.W., breeze; baro., 29.84; therm., 50; showery, sea moderate. Kaikoura—Wind, N.E., bree2e; baro., 29.65; therm., 65; fine, sea. smooth. Oamaru—Wind, N.E., light; baro., 29.52; therm., 52; overcast, sea smooth. Bluff—Wind, S.W., fresh; baro., 29.49; therm., 49; fine. ' THE WEATHER IN AUSTRALIA. The following weather reports from Australian stations were received yesterday:— Perth, Ootober 18—Calm; baro., 30.10; fine. Hobart, October 18—Wind, N.; baro., 30.10; fine. Sydney, October 19—Wind, N.E.; baro., 30.10; cloudy. - There is increased pressure at Perth, but pressure has decreased at botih Sydney and Hobart slowly, and will probably continue to" do so at the latter place. Pressure is low in lat. 50 to 55deg south, loTig. 128 to 132deg E., and travelling eastward, and will "pass to the eastward of the meridian of South Cape on the 23rd inst. R. A. EDWIN.
