CRICKET.
♦ BELFAST CRICKET CLUB. A very pleasant match was played at Belfast yesterday between a team of C_ristchurch players, selected by Mr A. E. G. Rhodes, the patron of the Be_f_st Club, from gentlemen interested in the live stock business and an eleven of the local Club, chosen by Mr N.icholl_, the President of the Club. The visitors went in first and scored 73, W. Clarkson and Woodroffe contributing 13 each. The home team replied with 128, toward which Murray subscribed 45 not out, Banks 27, and Hogg 20. Mr Rhodes's team did better in their second venture, running up 78 for the loss of ooJy four wickets by the call of time, Heaton Rhodes being resoons3>le for 31 not out, W. Clarkson 22 not out, and J. Clarkson 14. Belfast thus won by 55 runs on the first innings. The visitor- were hospitably entertained, and the outing proved an enjoyable one. Scores:— MR A. E. G.
