OKAIN'S BAY.
(FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT./ The dairy factory has now been in operation since the middle of September, and judging from the favourable outlook should this season put up a record. The directors have already sold forty-five tons of the output at 4£d .per Ib, reserving the balance for local requirements. So iar toe mnk this season is, -according to the manager, producing more cheese par given quantity than last. Wilih reference to the recent paragraph in "Tiie Press" stating that tbe so-called frostfish appeared on shore when there was really no frost, I may state that within the last two years this fishi has been picked up on the Okain's beaoh, n-ot only on a warm nxcut. but more than once between 9 and 11 o'clock in the day, according to the tide. At a meeting of suppliers to the Okain's Bay Daky Factory on Thursday, it was resolved to request the director to rescind the minute dealing with the- adoption of tihe test system, and revert to the old method of payment for nxQk at a certain rate per gallon.
