Thursday, February 9. (Before C. A. Wray, Esq., S.M.) The Printers Act.—John McKeague, managingedito# of the "Ashburton Standard,' was on, the information of J. R. McKay, with two breaches of the Printers Act, the first being that of publishing a leaflet without the same bearing an' imprint, the second that of publishing a nswsr/tper without the same bearing an imprint, giving tbe full name and address of the publisher, and tbe place at which, the Eapsr was printed. The first case was heard ist Court day, and dismissed without prejudice. On its being called again yesterday, several witnesses who had been subpoenaed failed to appear. An adjournment was granted for a fortnight. With reference to tbe second charge, it was admitted that through au oversight there had been a technical breach of the Act. His Worship imposed a nominal fine of 10s and costs. Mr Cuth«bertson appeared for informant, Mr Wilding, for defendant. Civn. Case.—D. Cochrane v Santy, claim £2 16s 6d. Mr Cuthbertson for plaintiff. Judgment for amount claimed and costs.
