ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
: » FATAL ACCIDENT AT LYTTELTON. Early yesterday morning a man named John Hunt was found lying unconscious in a right-of-way off Dublin street, Lyttelton. The palice were at once informed, smd the j man was seen by Dr. Uphain, who ordered I his removal to th& casual ward, where he ! attended him. The man's skull had been fractured, it is supposed, through his fallj ing down sorje steps, at the foot of whjch he was found. Yesterday afwrnoon he d*ied from the effects of his injuries. He was a native of King's County., Ireland, and about 33 years oi age. He arrived in the colony about ten years ago. ile was a labourr, but nad been doin;4 little work of late, hay- • ing been in prison ior vagrancy not long ago. He was last seen alive about 9 o'clock on Tuesday night. A male infant licensed out to Mrs Eliza Gubb, of Salisbury street, died suddenly yesterday, and an inquest will be held under the Infants' Life Protection Act, at 9.30 a.m. to-day. j
