EYRETON.
The Eyreton Road Board met on the 16th ult. Present — Messrs Wright (chairman), Chilton, Evans, Kelly and Smith. The secretary of the Canterbury Meat Company wrote in reference to arrangements being made for competition by local bodies for the trophy given by the Company at the next Winter Show. A letter from the Inspector of Stock drew the attention of stock owners to certain clauses in the Stock Act referring to mustering and driving. The Selwyn County Council wrote enquiring if this Board has any objection to offer against a fresh proclamation being ismed under sections 114 and 164 of the Public Works Act, 1894, for the purpose of having the protection of the river bank us far as nece3sary for the safety of White's bridge made a public work. It was resolved that no objection be made to the proclamation being issued as stated. The Waimakariri Harbour Board wrote, stating that the election of two members of the Board to represent the Eyreton Road Board distiict would be held on the second Monday in February. The clerk was directed to make application for 75 per cent, subsidy on rates for the year ending March 31st, 1899. It was'resolved —That the dog registration fees for the year 1899 be as follows : —for all sheep and cattle dogs up to June 30th, 2a 6d ; and after June. 30th, ss, except for dogs under age on June 30th, which are to be 2s 6d ; terrier-", ss; and all others, 10s each up to June 30th, and after June 30th 2s 6d extra. Accounts amounting to £113 0s lid were passed.
