The Linwood Rifles paraded last evening in the drill yard under Lieutenants Drayton and Johnston. There was a muster of 53 of -II ranks. A number of company movements were gone through in a manner that would have reflected credit upon a much oldsr corps. The City Rifles, under Captain Fairbairn, held a parade last evening, when there was a good attendance. At the close of the parade a social was held in the Orderly Room to bid farewell to Mr Hawdon.

His Excellency the Governor has given a ■ilyer cup, to becoujpoted for by the various companies of the Wellington BafcUKon annually tin sectional field firing. Average for the Company, 13.27 volley, and 1873 independent. There are still about six rmen to tire.
