A tost meeting uncle, the auspices of tho Pioneer Bicycle Club was held at Lancaster Ptrk l**' niabt, to decide as to the best men to ■end to the Wanganui Championship Meeting. The following are the results:: - Half Mile (amateur)—H. Thompson 1, S. C. Baron 2, 3- L. Carl 3. A. Baron, T. Couzina, f Shelton. and T. Oatcs also started. Won by {wo len„tti3 after a good spurt. On Thursday evening cycle races in connection with tlte Kaiapoi Club were held, on the lieath road. Inpaced against time for two inili'.v —!•*- V. Grant, 4iiiin 45sec; W. Blackwell, 4min 45-ce; K. Wright, smin 20s?t'. I'npaced iigaiust time, one mile— W. Blackwell, 2min lOsec, a record for New Zetland; \V. Anderson, 2miu 20*>ec; F. Shearsby, 2mm 20see; K. Wright, 2min 25iec; I>. V. Grant, 2min 25set*. Handicap Half-mile R<iad Race—H. Wright, 110 yds, 1; P. Miller, 100 yds, 2; Campbell, 60yds, 3. Fourteen started. The haudicapper put the scratch men out of the race, .here was S large attendance to witness the evei-t«. The j first race was for v medal given by the club, j 4_d the second for a trophy.
