Dr. and Mrs Weir Smith, and Messrs Bruges and Wheeler, were passengers by coach to the West Coast yesterday. The Rev. Father Crotty was a passenger [ from Sydney by the Talune yesterday morn- | ing. L_ Captain Anderson was a passenger from ; the South by the Oonah yesterday morning. Captain Clark, Harbourmaster, was a passenger for. Sydney by the Oonah yesterday. Sir James Hector arrived from the Soutn yesterday. Mr ff. S. Perry and Mr T. H. Overton, of Meadowbank, came in by last night's express. Mr and Mrs Jull, of Western Australia, arrived yesterday from the North." Mr and Mrs Milne returned to Akaroa yesterday. Mr and Mrs V. Thomas were among the passengers going South by yesterday's express. ivir W. R. Cureton, and Mr S. Moon, of London, arrived by steamer yesterday. Mr P. A. JHunro, of Dumbarton, also reached Christchurch via Wellington. Mr R. B. Phipson and Capt. Cameron were among yesterday's passengers by the southern express. Mr H. B. Kirk, of Timaru, arrived by last night's train. Mr and Mrs Steeds were also passengers. Mr and Mrs E. R. Good returned to Rangiora from Hanmer Plains last evening. Mr J. Martin, Glenmark, was in town last evening. Sir John Hall came in by the evening train on the North line last evening.
