WELLINGTON, February 2. iue Industrial Department has been informed that a company has lately been funned in England to manufacture a newmaterial called volenite, which is of great value for machinery and appliances required to resist a high temperature. It has seven times the resisting power to electricity of vulcanite. The material chiefly used in the manufacture is fish oil, and the company, if .sufficient inducement offers. propo.«es to establish a branch in New Zealand, which would luive gnat effect on the development of the fishing trade.
