MARKET REPORTS.
At the Leeaton sale yesterday, there was a good entry of stock all round. Both sheep and cattle are coming forward in good condition, and there was a large entry. Pigs are both scarcer and dearer, there being a keen demand for all classes. In sheep, fat lambs brought lis, ewes and lambs (all counted) 6s 3d to 9s, the latter being a particularly good line, hoggets (two and four tooth) 9s 7d and 10s to lis, fat ewes 6s to 9s. Pigs—Small stores and wcaners 14s to 20s, sows 45s to 60s, fat pigs 47s 6d to 60s, or 4d to 4Jd lb, big stores 25s to 30s. Cattle — There was a heavy yarding, and prices suffered in consequence. Prime quality, beef 178 to 18s, medium 15s, steers £4 to £5, dairy cows made from £3 to £5, good cows selling readily at these figures, young cattle 25s to 38s per head. There was a numerous entry of bulls, which sold at 20s to 355, one pedigree bull selling at the former figure.
