Having taken a look at my game this morning I spotted a line that I cannot understand over-looking before, though I have tried the game many times ainco I «ent it. to you. There seems to be a sort of fatality that keeps one blind till the mischief is done, and then it is asclear as daylight. The Lassie has jilted mc this time anyhow." We forwarded the above play, which should have been published on October 23rd, bnt it failed to reach its destination. Game No. 1769.—" Laird and Lady." Played in Melbourne between Mr R. Jordan, Champion of the World, and an Amateur. -

In this neat book of 64 pages will be found a mass /, of information such as is required by all olasses of players. Besides which there ore portraits of Wyllie, Martins, Jordan, and other players of note. There are also a quantity of positions given to illustrate scientific end game play tnd other matter, which makes the Manual the best ever offered, at the low price of 6d, 7d by post.
