A lecture will be delivered to men only at St. Michael's schoolroom, on Thursday next, at 8 p.m., by Dr. Alfred Neale. There will be no charge for admission. Collins will lecture in the -Lyceum to-morrow, taking'for his subject, "Will the Nations Disarm, and is Russia sincere." There will be the usual musical programme before the lecture. The annual meeting of the C.R.C. will be held in the Boathouse, on Friday next, at eight o'clock. A meeting of the ratepayers of the Northeast and South-west Wards favourable to the return of Messrs F. C. Gerard and E. Eastwood will be held at the W.C.T.U. . coffee rooms, Gloucester .street, on Monday evening, at 7.30. A concert, for which a very excellent programme has been arranged, will be given in St. Matthew's schoolroom, St. Albans, ©n Thursday evening next. A meeting of the Canterbury College Engineering Society will be held to-night, at the College, when a paper will bo read by Mr E, Dobson on "The economic problems connected with railway gauge." A public meeting will be held in the schoolroom, Hornby, oh Wednesday evening next, to elect committee and make arrangements for the forthcoming sports. The annual meeting of the Lancaster Park Cricket Club will be held at Warner's Hotel, on Monday, September 12th, at 8 p.m. The annual athletic sports in connection With the Boys' High School will be held «t Lancaster Park on Friday, October 7th. The entries for the Old Boys' Race close at the school at 12.30 on Saturday, October A meeting of the Avon Licensing ComIn* wiW be neld to-day at noon. . The title of the address to be delivered to*norrow afternoon in connection with the rheosophical Society will be "A Chinese Philosophy."
