THE FEDERATION QUESTION.
MR REID'S RESOLUTIONS. United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, August 31. Mr Reid, in a full House, moved the federation resolutions. His speech was a masterly review of the Federation movement from its inception, and an amplification of the arguments in favour of the amendments embodied in the resolutions. He claimed that New South Wales had the best claims to the federal Capital, because she had the largest population and would have to contribute most to the Federal revenue. He was prepared, on» behalf of New South Wales, to make sacrifices to obtain Federation. The discussion was adjourned until Wednesday.
