Tuesday, August 30. (Before Messrs M. C. Orbell and W. M. Moore, J.P.'s.) Breaches of the By-laws.—For allowing cattle to wander at large in the town John O'Malley, F. W. Warner and Edward
O'Brien were each fined 5s and costs, and a first offender was fined 2s 6d and costs per head for allowing three head of cattle to wander. Edward Beckley was fined _2s 6d and costs for discharging a firearm in the town. Defendant 'admitted the offence, stating that he had been asked by a neighbour to shoot some cats that had been annoying him. The police stated that the firearm used was a small pea rifle.
