POULTRY SHOW.

The seventeenth annual exhibition of the Sydenham Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Society, which was opened yesterday, was certainly the best of the series. The entry was a record one, the quality of the exhibits better all round than usual, and the number of varieties shown was greater. Added to this, Messrs Dalgetv and Co.'a wool store is admirably suited for exhibitions of the kind. In the poultry section the breeds' were repre sented in numbers as follows :—Game 60, Spanish 3, Andalusians 15, Leghorns 49, Minorcas 39, Hamburgs 54, Dorkings 5, Cochins 9, Brahmas 7, Langshans 5, VVyandottea 59, Orpingtons 5, Plymouth Rocks 13, Houdans 14, Bantams 50j Ducks 14, any other variety 12, selling classes 32, exhibition only 2, table class 1; total 448; pigeons 268 (tumblers, us usual, being the breed best repre*ented in numbers), canaries 75, pets 43 ; grand total 834. The next best entry secured by the Society was in 1896, when the total was 716. The judges were :—Poultry—Game, Spanish, Leghorns, Dorkings, Langsnans, and Orpingtons, Mr F.
