THE PREMIER AT BLENHEIM.

BLENHEIM* Jane 7, The Premier received a great reception at Blenheim last night. He arrived from Pipton at seven o'olook, and was presented with an address of welcome by the mayor and councillors. Mr Seddon afterwards addressed an overflowing audience in the Victoria Hall, many people being unable to obtain admission. In a three hours' speech the Premier detanded the policy of the Government, and severely criticised the tactics of the Opposition, If those who opposed the present Government would perDiet in accusing them of oorruption, and never proving a single cose, he might be tempted to give them euoh an exposure as would make them regret their charges of maladministration. A resolution expressing appreciation of the valutjd and distinguished publio services rendered to the colony by Mr Seddon, and of confidence in him as Premier and in the Govern* ment, was carried by acclamation. Several deputations wait upon the Premier this morning, and a luncheon in bis honour (lakes place at half-past one in the after* noon. He will be driven round the district, and will address a publio meeting at Pioton to-night.
