Mr Hordern evidently has reconsidered his decision to retire from racing, as he has nominated a number of horses for the forthcoming A.J.C. events, and the Melbourne and Caulfield Cups.

At a meeting of the stewards of the Auckland Racing Club the protest entered against Crusoe, the winner of the Second Winter Welter Handicap, was dismissed. The totalisator dividend, £10 Ws, trill be paid out on Crusoe.

Harris, P. Holmes, T. Jackson, and the horse Crescent, inflicted by the Asnburton Stewards, be not upheld. ' The C.J.C. lias pointed out to the Ashburton Club that, in accordance with the rules, the stakes for ths race won by Rangefinder at the Autumn Meeting, and in which that horse drew overweight not declared, must go to Seabrook, who finished second.
