CHEVIOT.

The first annual show to be held at Cheviot to-day, promises to be very sue. cessful. There are good entries in all classes, and the weather is beautifully fine. A number of visitors have ftrrived and others are expected. The attendance (writes our correspondent) will be a record one for a Cheviot gathering. A fire occurred on Saturday night at Domett, by whioh the woolshed and contents, the property of Mr John Puschel, were destroyed. The origin of the fire i* not known. A man who had been accus tomed to sleep on the premises left at half* past six o'clock, and the fire broke out at nine o'clock. A quantity of wool, skins, plant, &c, was destroyed. The insurances are £350 in the Alliance office, £17 10ft in the Sun office, and the loss is estimated at £160 above the insurance.
