Emma Sims — For Waitara — 400 sks potatoes. 220 sks and 600 bags flour, 50 sks sharps, 50 sks bran, 60 boxes soap. , The Te Anau arrived from Dunedin on Saturday morning and sailed for Wellington iv the afternoon. The Westralia arrived from Sydney via Auckland and East Coast ports on Saturday morning, and sailed for Dunedin on Saturday' nighr. On the last voyage of the Westralia to Sydney she encountered the full force of the recent gale which raged ou the New South Wales coast. After steaming against it for some time it was found necessary to heave-to, which considerably delayed her arrival in Sydney. Beyond carrying away one or two small articles on deck the Westralia came through it little the worse for the trying time she had undergone, and on the conclusion of the voyage tho passengers tendered to Captain Bull their appreciation of the seamanlike manner in which the vessel was handled during the very anxious time. The proceeds of a concert held in aid of the National Shipwreck Society amounted to £6 8s 6d. The Rotomahana arrived from and sailed for Wellington on Saturday. The barque Golden Gate, with part cargo from New York, arrived from Dunedin yesterday morning, and was towed into the stream, where she anchored. The Rosamond came out of dock and sailed for Greymouth on Saturday. The Penguin arrived from Wellington yesterday afternoon. She had a very rough voyage. The Janet Nicoll and Brunner sailed for Westport on Saturday. There are several changes in the personnel of the Kaikoura's staff of officers (reports the " New Zealand Times "). Mr Silba (who was on the Mataura when she was wrecked in the Straits of Magellan) is now chief officer, in place of Mr Parsons, who has been transferred to the Tekoa; Mr A. Forbes (late second officer of the Rimutaka) succeeds Mr Cornwall as second on the Kaikoura; and Messrs Bluett and Vipan are the third [ and fourth officers respctively. Mr Suther--1 land (late of the Mataura) is chief engineer, and Mr Evans (formerly of the Otaxama) _i j second. Mr Holford, formerly second officer of the

Monowai, has been appointed chief of the Haupiri in place of Mr Ward, who is now on the Takapuna. The second officer, Mr Sinclair; has been acting temporarily as mate.

Mr Lake, chief officer of the Tarawera, has obtained a month's holiday. His duties have been assumed by Mr Graham, late of the Manapouri. Mr Denny, late purser of the Taviuni, has left for Sydney by the Tarawera for Tasmania to assume a pursership on one of the Company's steamers on that coast.
