FOOTBALL.
In the senior football matches Sydenham visit Kai&poi, where they play the local club. Merivale and Albion and Christchurch and Linwood meet on Lancaster Park.
The Waihi Club, from Winchester, visited Geraldine and defeated the local club by 11 points to 4 on Thursday. This was the first match for the Senior Championship of South Canterbury. Waihi and Waimate meet at Winchester next Tuesday.
