The Mary Moor, from Newcastle, arrived yesterday morning with a cargo of coal. ""The Carin, whjch, arrived yesterday morning with a cargo of salt, left Adelaide on February 22nd, and' experienced- heavy weether during ths whole voyage. She has been chartered by Messrs Pitcaithly, Wallace and Co. to load produce for Greymouth, and thence timber for Melbourne. When being towed from the Gladstone wharf yesterday, the Blenheim experienced a sudden heavy gust from the north-east and, taking charge of the tug, was carried towards the western mole of the breakwater. The anchor was let go, and she was brought up when about eighty feet from the breakwater. A launch was sent to her assistance, and, after a brief period of suspense, she was got away from her awkward position and towed by the tug out into the stream, where she awaits a favourable wind. The authorities are satisfied that the ship did not touch anything, and that she sustained no injury. A stiff gale was blowing in Lyttelton most of yesterday, but no mischief to the shipping was reported. Captain John Adamson has been ap" pointed Examiner of Maitors and Mates in the colony in place of Captain John Robert* son, resigned.
