All the delegates of the other Imperial departments support the offer of the Eastern Extension Company for a new line to Australia from the Cape. COLONIAL COINAGE OF SILVER. Sir Andrew Clark, Agent-General for Victoria, is urging Mr Chamberlain that the colonial mints should be allowed to coin silver. KRUGER AND KOTZE. Pretoria, March 17. A member of the Volksraad attests the correctness of the memorandum made by ex-Justice Kotze of the interview in 1895, when President Kruger threatened bis suspension unless the judges upheld the resolutions of the Volksraad. Received March 19th, 32.30 a.m. ENGLAND AND HAWAII. Washington, March 18. The report of the Foreign Committee of the Senate with reference to Hawaii states that if Great Britain is not openly fomenting the destruction of the Hawaiian Republic and seeking the restoration of the monarchy her agents and protege, the Princess Kaiulani, are doing so, while the ex-Queen, Liliukalani, is kept near to enable her to fasten on to power should the pretext arise'for the protection of the British residents. INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION. Owing to America's good feeling towards Great Britain Sir Julian Pauncefote, British Ambassador at Washington, is pressing the arbitration scheme on the attention of the authorities. SUSPECTED OF ESPIONAGE. Berlin, March 18. Two men, Steinbon, a sculptor, and Dussard, a commercial traveller, have beon arrested at Metz on the charge of espionage. A quantity of compromising papers found in their possession have been seized. Received March 19th, 12.50 a.m. THE FRENCH IN WEST AFRICA. Paris, March 18. Captain Gamier, the French officer who captured Nikki in West Africa, has been promoted for his services. DUELLING IN ITALY. Rome, March 18. The Conamittee appointed by the Italian Chamber of Deputies to enquire into the circumstances of the recent duel between Signors Cavalotti and Macola, in which the former was killed, has recommended the prosecution of Macola.
