LAND BOARD.

A meeting of the Canterbury Land Board w*s held yesterday. Present—Messrs Sidney Weefcmtin (Counnlsaiotiei , of Crown Lands), D. McMillan, A. C. Pringle and J. McLaclilan.

A letter was received from tho Assets Realisation Board relative to the granting of part of run No. 146 for an extension of the Ashley Gorge Domain Reserve No. 3094, and it was resolved to grant the extension on the terms stipulated. It was decided to recommend the reservation of a gravel reserve of two acres in Lot 5, Reserve 2165, as applied for by the Wakanui Road Board, subject to tho conditions wsked for by the Ranger. Temporary grazing leases of Crown lands in the Pareora River district were granted as under, subject to the usual condition :—Samuel Hansen, 15 »:re', annual rental £110s, Andrew Hammond, 12 acres, rental £1 4a.

Proposal* submitted by the Ellesmere Road Board for the expenditure <>f thirds were cmsidei ed and approved, except as to R.S. 35952, in the case of which it was resolved that the thirds should be expended on water supply. In the case of lot 10, res. 684, it was resolved that the lessee's access must not be cat off by the proposed road drain. A ballot for sections in the Rosebrook, Kereta and Epworth settlements was held, and resulted as follows:—Sees. 8 and 9 Rosebrook Settlement, Block XVI. Pareora Survey District, 58 acres 25 perches, Mary Rundle ; sec 3, Kereta, Arowhenua Survey District, Block IX.,26aoree 1 rood 19perches, John Albert; sec 14a, Epworth, Block IL, 11 acres S roods 32 perches, Daniel Geaney ; sec 10a, Epworth, Block 11., 9 acres 11 perches, Sarah Geaney.
